Shobna shares her vision for a fairer, kinder, and better world, driven by the power of human potential. She leads MSM Unify's global impact initiatives, focusing on strategic planning, innovation, collaboration, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
With nearly 20 years of experience in the BC Public Service and senior private sector roles, she recently served as Associate Vice President of External Relations at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia. She holds degrees from Calicut University and the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and is a respected public speaker and dedicated volunteer.
Sobhana’s passion extends beyond her professional life. She volunteers for numerous non-profits, including HashHack Code and the BC-India Business Network. In her various roles, she emphasizes the importance of donation—not just money but also time, blood, and even chemical-free hair for cancer patients needing wigs. Her journey includes significant contributions to the British Columbia government (1995-2015) in various senior management positions, leading Organizational Excellence and HR at NewGen KnowledgeWorks in India, and enhancing strategic relationships at Simon Fraser University since 2017. She also holds numerous advisory and leadership roles in Canada and India, promoting business, leadership, film, and inclusion.
